Forever Bury FC would like to announce a special Charity Match for this year, to co-incide with the Club's 125 year birthday.
It is with great pleasure that this years' opponents will be a Bury All Stars team, with blasts from the past returning to the hallowed Gigg Lane turf for this special occasion.
Former legend and Forever Bury President Chris Lucketti is currently putting together a squad, the details of which will follow as and when each player being contacted confirms their availability.
Also some of the finer points are in the process of being finalised so we do ask for your patience and we promise that we will keep everyone updated.
We are working closely with Bury Football Club, and the date for this game is Sunday 25th April 2010 - the day after the Club's official birthday, when we are away to Lincoln.
There is also the opportunity for YOU to get involved. We will be offering TWO people the chance to play WITH the Bury All Stars Team, and become part of their squad. Details on how to make your bid will arrive shortly!
We are also looking for sponsorship in any way shape or form, again details will appear on specific packages, however if you want to sponsor the event in some way, please get in touch!
As details are still being finalised, if you have any suggestions please feel free to make suggestions and help us make this event as beneficial as possible for the charities!
We'd like to express our thanks to Bury Football Club, in particular Mark Catlin, and to James Bentley.

post from Ben Miles
I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone who turned up today, sponsors, helpers and of course those who came to watch the event.
The game was called off due to standing water on the pitch - the right call was made ahead of the League game on Saturday, plus it wouldn't have been safe for the players (although our lot would play regardless of the conditions )
The game has been re-scheduled for Bank Holiday Monday, Kick Off 2pm - big thanks to Mike Curtis for getting us another date and on a Bank Holiday too!
I didn't see the exact time of the postponement but after quite a bit of rushing about trying to get a re-arranged date and telling the sponsors etc, the time was 14:30 - so it wasn't called off any later than 14:15.
I'd also like to apologise to anyone waiting in the Social Club for the Legends to appear - I was told they'd be having one in the Legends suite then heading up there - an hour later they were still there.
Hopefully the weather will be better for us next week, the silver linings are there were small things we could have done better today which will be addressed ahead of next week, and there's also an increased chance of additional players such as (but NOT CONFIRMED), Nugent and Carter.
Hopefully see a good turnout next week so the charities will benefit as much as possible!
