Seems there is a trend here
Regular fans forums AGM Beer Festival Closing of official message board with next to no notice
I discovered today that they don't just fob us off. The lady who won the treasure line draw for the car works at my wife's firm. She got an e-mail telling her she had won and that someone would be in touch. Several weeks later and ignored messages/e-mails, nothing. Seems the lady in question is taking it to the Bury Times and Trading Standards.
I know the board talk about increasing crowds but they risk losing some existing fans. We all know they want us on the BFC Network for free and then bill us in a years time when it would be too much agro to leave it. I registered and there is only about 20 on it despite it being free.

What has happened tonight will damage them further. People will quickly flood an 'unofficial' message board and then they'll have even less say on what they are able to hide. And on the other side of the coin, all of a sudden they won't be able to show what they want to be seen.
Fair enough, set up an impressive network but until they get all the main site content onto there AND player interviews and match commentary, what exactly am I signing up for? If they do all that and then create a new forum as part of it then maybe people won't be so bothered paying.
But for now they've taken away such a positive thing that has been around a lot longer than they have and without their own 'official' explanation.

Bearing in mind the main site/player is not updated like it should be, people will stop using it as there is no need for it if you follow their twitter feed. Outcome less hits/less income.

I would imagine the lack of communication about the mb closure was on purpose
If John(blackpudding) hadn't of posted on the old Mods Forum i'd (Wirral Shaker previously) have been none the wiser and i wonder how much official notice of its closure the club would have given, i'd guess we'd have just tried to log-in on friday and there'd have been nowt there!
At least the club and other readers (BT etc) no now of the wholesale displeasure

I'm extremely uncomfortable about all this praising Blackpudding nonsense...

I'm glad I'm not alone in finding this disturbing. Direct communication between club and fans is nosediving.

They've reinvigorated our commercial operation and provided an ambitious manager with funds to put together a competitive squad. However, their cavalier attitude has also upset many supporters. Will people continue to use the club's website? Take away the "official" MB and there is very little there which is of interest.

Update on the treasure line winner. She got a call from Lynn at the club who has advised that Richard Cort have sold the car in question, no timescale on a replacement. What a joke.

You have got to be joking. The club is crying out for treasureline collectors, also this will do absolutely nothing to encourage people to sign up.

The closure of the official MB has been counterproductive. There are now four independent MBs on which Bury fans can express opinions. I suspect the official website will see a decline in visitor numbers as a result of this decision. The cub has been hampered by communications problems for the 40-odd years in which I've been a supporter. Nothing has changed.
